Typically reporting to the Finance ManagerFinancial Controller or Shared Services Manager (depending on the company size), the Billings Manager is an important part of the accounts department and is responsible for the team that manages the end-to-end invoicing process.

The Billings Manager has responsibilities that vary depending on the size and type of organisation. Typical job duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervising a team of Billings Officers

  • Working with the IT team to ensure the billing system is updated as and when necessary

  • Managing the accurate preparation of client's invoices to reduce errors

  • Supervising the upload of customer rates and ensuring they are correct in the accounting system

  • Ensuring the team completes billing requirements to meet mid-month and month-end deadlines

  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding billing issues and requests

  • Identifying initiatives to improve the billing processes and procedures

  • Updating the Financial Controller and other Managers regularly on any issues around processes and procedures
