Senior Financial / Corporate Accountant - Retail

The Company

Our client is a well-known and successful retail group with a huge presence across Australia & NZ. This is a highly desirable business to work for and currently, they are searching for a Senior Financial / Corporate Accountant to join their team.

The Role

Join this growing team in a permanent role as the Senior Financial / Corporate Accountant. You will report to and heavily support a talented and approachable Financial Controller. This role will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Lead the month-end close process
  • Prepare and submit group reporting packs
  • Deliver monthly management reports with key financial insights
  • Collaborate with the broader finance team (including FP&A) and cross-functional departments, including IT, Marketing, and Legal
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process
  • Manage the monthly working capital forecast and analysis
  • Oversee all tax compliance obligations, including FBT, GST, and annual income tax
  • Drive the year-end audit process, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement projects and efficiency initiatives

Your Background

To be considered for this Senior Financial / Corporate Accountant role you must fulfill most of the following criteria:

  • Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA or ACCA) 
  • Prior ownership of month-end reporting, tax (i.e. FBT, GST, and annual income tax) and managing the audit process (clearly stated on your resume)
  • Have been involved in process improvement initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with all levels of the business
  • Product-based industry experience (Retail, FMCG, Manufacturing, Wholesale, Logistics, etc.) OR Audit trained having moved into commercial and after your next challenge
  • Have worked in a medium to large-sized enterprise
