Company Background

Our client is a high-growth, founder-led financial services institution in the Norwest. The business is scaling quickly (headcount has already doubled over the past 24 months with further growth planned) while maintaining a close-knit, “family feel” culture.

This is a highly visible role partnering directly with an experienced, commercial and systems-focused CFO who is known for being approachable and investing time in the team. No two days are the same, and the team works hard to support each other on this exciting journey!

It's worth noting this is an onsite role, 5 days a week, with some flexibility with hours if you have personal commitments such as school pick up/drop off.

The Role

  • Manage month-end close (journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations) and review transactional entries.
  • Prepare internal, statutory and financial reporting Investor / funding provider reporting and support
  • Support funding administration
  • Coordinate the external audit process and prepare audit schedules
  • Prepare/review BAS, payroll tax, superannuation and other statutory lodgements
  • Oversee payroll processing (leave, super, commissions, payroll tax)
  • Monitor daily banking, cash movements and reconciliations
  • Support the CFO with cash flow forecasting, management reporting and analysis
  • Supervise and support the Commercial Accountant

Your Background

  • Experience in the financial services sector and familiarity with their products, regulator and compliance requirements is essential.
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Ideally from an SME environment where you have the big picture experience of the finance function Advanced Excel (strong reporting capability)
    Exceptional communication skills
  • Staff supervision / mentoring experience
  • Audit or business services foundation (highly regarded)
