Finance Manager - Property Development

Company Background

Our client has a strong reputation in the property development space. They are privately owned and about to join forces to tackle some large and exciting projects that will double their revenue. They are currently a smaller team, so it's all hands on deck to help drive change & ensure things are done on a timely basis. No two days are the same, so it’s for those of you who thrive in a little bit of organised chaos! The Role

This Finance Manager role will support the business with the following tasks:

  • Ensure compliance with GST, BAS, PAYG, and other tax obligations.
  • Maintain and update financial records, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
  • Manage the general ledger and month-end process.
  • Develop and monitor budgets for various projects. Track project costs, variations, and budget performance, including preparation & submission of progress claims. Assist with cost control measures to support project managers.
  • Process subcontractor invoices and payments, ensuring correct documentation and compliance.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting tasks including tracking and recording expenses. Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and supplier payments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and financial transactions.
  • Maintain cash flow tracking and forecasting.
  • Process payroll, superannuation, and employee entitlements.

Your Background

Our client is looking for someone who has worked in development, construction or a similar business with a strong understanding of project accounting.

You will also be/have:

  • A Senior-level Accountant or Finance Manager from an SME business.
  • CA or CPA qualified or studying towards.
  • Strong experience in month-end reporting, budgeting and cashflow forecasting.
  • Works well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • As you will be dealing with the Director and Project Managers directly, it's essential your English communication is excellent to avoid any confusion on complex matters.
  • Any experience with implementing project or job costing software would be highly desirable.
