Finance Leadership in Not-for-Profit Care

The Company

Our client is a charitable, not-for-profit organisation delivering a range of services and programs designed to improve the quality of life for people within the aged community. They are committed to achieving a standard of excellence in care that is always focused on the individual and their care needs. Based in Sydney’s South West, they now have a rare opportunity for a Finance Manager to join their Finance Team.

The Role

Reporting to the CFO, this Finance Manager role has a number of key functions, including:

  • Managing a team of four direct staff across Financial, Transactional and Revenue accounting.
  • Own monthly management reporting and KPI analysis for multiple sites/services.
  • Prepare and present timely forecasts and variance analysis to senior leadership.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital and weekly/monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Develop pricing models, cost-to-serve analyses and business cases for new initiatives.
  • Lead cost-management programs and identify efficiency opportunities across operations.
  • Oversee internal controls, compliance with funding rules (government/NFP funding), audit readiness and statutory reporting.
  • Support funding submissions, grant acquittals and contract negotiations.
  • Mentor and supervise finance staff; coordinate with payroll, accounts payable/receivable and external advisors.
  • Implement and optimise finance systems/processes (ERP, reporting tools).

Your Background

To be considered for this fabulous Finance Manager role, our client is particularly interested in candidates with:

  • Strong staff management skills (love to lead and mentor a team).
  • A background in a funded environment such as NFP, Aged / Healthcare or Charities.
  • A dynamic communicator – someone who can light up the room as a leader and mentor.
  • CA / CPA qualified (or equivalent).
