Our client is a reputable Australian business that provides specialist outsourced support to professional service organisations across the financial sector. Operating for several years with a team of around 80 staff, the company has built a strong reputation for accuracy, reliability, and responsive service delivery. They’re based in modern CBD offices close to public transport and offer a collaborative and professional working environment.

The Role

This is a 3–6 month temporary Senior Assistant Accountant position offering the chance to join a close-knit finance team during a busy reporting period.

Duties include:

• Prepare and post journals to support month-end and year-end reporting requirements
• Complete general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations using Excel, investigating and resolving variances as required
• Assist with month-end close activities and maintain accurate financial records
• Support both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, ensuring a strong understanding of end-to-end transaction processing
• Generate invoices, allocate receipts, perform customer and debtor reconciliations and assist with supplier payments and payment runs

Your Background

To be considered for this Senior Assistant Accountant role, you’ll bring:

• Immediately available to start
• Experience across transactional finance, month-end functions and strong reconciliation experience
• Part-qualified accounting studies (desirable)
• Background in financial services or a related sector (advantageous)
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach
• Professional services experience is highly regarded
