This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in AI, automation, and analytics. Reporting to a hands-on CFO and Finance Manager, you’ll support day-to-day finance operations across multiple entities. As the company grows, you'll gain exposure to systems improvements, acquisitions, process enhancement projects and automation, and the introduction of AI-driven finance tools.

The Role

This is an Assistant Accountant role where you’ll own end-to-end Accounts Payable, support Accounts Receivable and contribute to financial controls, month-end and reporting. You’ll also get involved in streamlining processes and using automation/AI tools to improve efficiency.

Your duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • End-to-end Accounts Payable processing
  • Support Accounts Receivable: invoicing, collections and reducing debtor balances
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, clients and internal stakeholders; resolve queries efficiently
  • Balance sheet reconciliations: investigate and resolve variances
  • Maintain general ledger integrity and support the month-end close
  • Assist with key financial reports and analysis as required
  • Provide financial insights to support decision-making across projects/teams
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Support project cost tracking and financial performance monitoring
  • Identify and implement improvements across AP/AR for efficiency and accuracy
  • Contribute to dashboard development for finance/project performance (as required)
  • Leverage AI/automation tools to reduce manual work and streamline workflows
  • Ad hoc finance/admin support as needed

Your Background

To be considered for this Assistant Accountant role, you must possess the following skills and attributes:

  • A degree (or similar) in Accounting/Finance (or related)
  • Currently studying towards CPA or CA ANZ (or planning to)
  • Close attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders
