The Role  

As the Assistant Financial Accountant, you will sit in a corporate head office environment and report to a Finance Manager who enjoys developing and mentoring her team. Your initial duties will include: 

• Accounts payable and receivable for an allocated portfolio

• Bank, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations

• Journal preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records

• Supporting month-end and quarterly reporting processes

• Assisting the wider team with compliance and ad hoc requirements

As you continue to grow you will gain exposure to:

• Financial statements and tax compliance

• Project budgeting and forecasting

• Management and board reporting

• Financial models and accounting for infrastructure assets

• Progressive ownership of an allocated asset portfolio

Your Background 

This opportunity would suit an early-career accountant who wants structured development within a sophisticated corporate environment. You will ideally have:

• At least six months of accounting experience gained in commerce, audit, tax or business services

• An accounting degree with a solid academic record

• An interest in commencing or continuing CA/CPA studies

• A proactive attitude and genuine desire to develop your accounting career

• Permanent Australian working rights

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
