Property Development Finance Lead

Our client is a luxury property developer known for delivering some of Sydney’s most prestigious residential projects.

Led by a well-known and respected CEO who started life as a Chartered Accountant, this is a business that has an extremely exciting pipeline of projects on the horizon. The Role

As the Senior Accountant, you will work closely with and support a talented CFO. In this appealingly broad role, you will work in a small finance team and have responsibility for:

  • Month-end reporting and communicating results both internally and to external partners
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for all entities
  • Maintain and reconcile GL accounts for multiple properties
  • Prepare monthly inter-entity reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies
  • Prepare year-end work papers
  • Ensure timely ATO lodgments (BAS, PAYG, FBT, etc.)
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Assisting with discussions around new structures for fresh projects
  • Manage cashflow forecasts
  • Variance analysis
  • Working with Project Managers on reforecasting
  • Business Partner – with multiple stakeholders and become a ‘go-to’ person in the team
  • Project work – driving best practice and continuous process improvement initiatives

Your Background

As the ideal candidate for this Senior Accountant position, you will ideally possess the following attributes:

  • CA or CPA qualified (or close to completion) and eager to keep building your expertise
  • Excellent communication skills and enjoy working with stakeholders
  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
  • You bring strong technical knowledge in financial reporting and tax, and you’re always looking to continue learning
  • You’re a self-starter who takes ownership, applies critical thinking, and enjoys solving complex problems
