Financial Accountant - Infrastructure delivery

Company Background

Our client is one of Australia’s leading deliverers of critical infrastructure and a household name within the utility space. A recent decision to improve the internal delivery and presentation of reporting and analysis has identified the need for a Financial Accountant to join the team.

This role sits in one of the largest divisions, where a number of the business’s key (and largest) projects are delivered. The team is packed full of smart, driven accountants who are led and mentored by some of Sydney’s foremost finance leaders in the Infrastructure space.

The Role

On a day-to-day basis, the role will involve the following (but not limited to) responsibilities:

• Prepare regular month-end reporting, and ensure timeliness, accuracy and relevance of information.
• Prepare regular reporting of actual spend against budget and update forecasts for at the line of business level.
• Processing accruals and transfer journals.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
• Reviewing expense accounts, ensuring costs are recognised against the right expense elements.
• Have a continuous improvement mindset and work towards best-in-class reporting and cadence.
• Support the business with ad hoc financial and commercial analysis and reports.
• Reconciliation and management of balance sheet items

To be considered our client would love to meet candidates who:

• Are CA/CPA qualified
• Have solid financial accounting experience, ideally out of a large capital-intensive industry such as Infrastructure or Engineering 

First-time movers from Chartered would also be highly regarded by our client.
