Finance Manager - Professional Services

Company Background

As a Global professional (and NASDAQ-listed) services company headquartered in Europe, they have a workforce of over 1,000 staff across 36 offices partnering with over 400 organisations worldwide.  In Australia, they specialise in coaching, digital solutions and strategic execution. Whilst punching above weight here, they aren’t large locally, which is why they are looking to hire a Finance Manager that is committed, hands-on and able to offer genuine commercial insights to the Executive team.

As a small, tight-knit team, they offer the opportunity to the successful candidate to make an impact beyond the numbers in a genuine commercial way, all within a hybrid work environment (one day from home)

Plainly put, it’s the perfect role for an established Finance Manager who is looking for long-term job stability.

The Role

This role reports locally to the local Executive team but also has a reporting line into Singapore, where the Group CFO is based.

More specifically, the role will:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities and month-end close, ensuring reconciliations, AP/AR, general ledger entries, and financial statements are accurate and delivered on time.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, cash management, and working capital planning to support smooth business operations.
  • Lead the monthly payroll process by coordinating with payroll vendors, verifying calculations, and overseeing leave management.
  • Ensure all statutory and tax requirements are met and liaise with external auditors and tax agents as needed.
  • Support pricing decisions, margin analysis, and project profitability reviews to guide sound commercial outcomes.
  • Prepare and present clear, insightful monthly performance reports, highlighting key trends and variances.
  • Partner closely with the Managing Director and project teams to align financial planning with business strategy and client commitments.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting to support effective decision-making.
  • Supervise and mentor the Accounts Assistant to ensure smooth, accurate day-to-day financial operations.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency, keeping them practical and scalable for the business.
  • Take part in ad hoc financial analysis and cross-functional projects as they arise.

Your Background

If you are keen on this role, there are a couple of considerations for the role.

  • Firstly, you will need to be professionally qualified as an Accountant (e.g. CA, ACA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Ideally, have relatable industry experience such as Consulting, Professional Services or project-based environments.
  • Practical experience in financial reporting, cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Very happy to be standalone – although there is a Junior accountant supporting your role, you will be responsible for most of the heavy lifting.

Lastly, this role will offer stability and a wonderful place to work, but as the operations are still relatively small here, there aren’t a lot of immediate career promotion options.
