Finance Manager - Professional Services

Company Background

Our client is a niche, project management business specialising in property development across residential, aged care, health and education builds. With over 30 years experience, and about to move into superb offices with sweeping harbour views, it presents a superb opportunity for someone looking for stability and a great place to work.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO, and purposed to lead their finance operations, it’s a well-rounded, hands-on position. Ideally, it’s suited to someone who thrives in a hands-on role and wants to work in a supportive, stable, and flexible environment. More specifically, the role will have responsibility for the:

  • Management of cashflow budget, forecasting and reporting
  • Management of Profit and Loss Statements and Balance Sheets
  • Management of Profitability Reporting
  • Monthly, Quarterly and EOFY tax management
  • Management of regular and correct invoicing of completed services
  • Communication with outstanding debtors
  • Receipt, confirmation and payment of creditor invoices
  • Scheduling of creditor payments
  • Payroll (scheduling, payslips, superannuation, Group Certificates, staff expenses)
  • Management of employee revenue/net profit benchmarks

There is also an IT / Operational focus, which includes:

  • System management, including job creation, data entry, expenditure coding and purchase order entry
  • Manager of Administration Staff
  • Point of contact for external IT Consultants
  • Key person for Deltek PIM System and MYOB
  • Preparation of expenditure budgets
  • Contribution of finance data for tender submissions
  • Oversee compliance and auditing of company's WHS, Environmental and Quality Assurance System (IMS)

Your Background

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck in.  It’s for someone happy in a tight-knit environment where you are the key person for all finance matters. It’s not a big team (around 20 staff), so cultural fit is key. Other considerations are:

  • All-round experience ideally from within a SME environment
  • CA / CPA qualified
  • Ideally have worked in Professional Services such as engineering or consulting
