Stable Finance Team Opportunity

The Company

A well-regarded Sydney CBD membership organisation with a small, friendly team. The finance function operates within a broader business of approximately 35 to 40 staff, across office-based and field-based roles. It is a stable, professionally run workplace with an approachable culture where people genuinely know each other.

In addition to a competitive base salary, the organisation offers a benefits package that is well above the standard market rate, making this role genuinely attractive for someone looking for long-term stability over constant upward movement.

Key highlights include:

  • Salary plus a benefits package significantly above what the market typically offers at this level
  • Small team with genuine ownership of the day-to-day finance function
  • Permanent, stable role in an established and well-regarded organisation

The Role

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this is the core transactional finance role in the business. The role is hands-on and varied, covering both accounts payable and receivable functions across multiple entities.

  • Processing and managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Completing bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Managing data entry and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Chasing employees for outstanding receipts and expense documentation
  • Maintaining asset registers
  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders to support timely reporting
  • Providing ad hoc support to the Financial Controller

Your Background

You are a reliable, detail-focused finance professional who takes pride in accurate work and owns your output. You are comfortable in a small team environment, do not need close oversight to stay on track, and approach your work with consistency and care.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a transactional accounting or bookkeeping role
  • Xero proficiency: confident and capable day to day, not surface-level exposure
  • Excel at intermediate level: pivot tables and VLOOKUPs as a minimum
  • Solid mixed AP/AR experience
  • Strong attention to detail with a track record of accuracy
  • Full right to live and work in Australia

Highly regarded:

  • Background in a membership-based or not-for-profit organisation
  • Exposure to multi-entity or intercompany accounting
  • Dext experience or similar receipt management platforms
