Based in modern offices in Sydney, this is an opportunity to join a collaborative finance team and work closely with an experienced Finance Director in a broad and commercially focused accounting role. There are 2 days WFH once you have learnt the ropes of your new role, along with some other very attractive company benefits!

The Role

• Month-end journals, reconciliations and reporting
• Revenue accounting and project profitability reporting
• Billing, accounts receivable and revenue analysis
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
• Supporting payroll processes for the local business
• Acting as a key finance contact for operational stakeholders
• Managing finance-related client and internal queries
• Oversight of accounts payable processes managed offshore
• Supporting process improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects

Your Background

You are a personable and proactive accounting professional who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and taking ownership of your work. You're not afraid to roll up your sleeves, get involved and contribute beyond your core responsibilities.

You may currently be working as a Financial Accountant, Management Accountant, Senior Assistant Accountant or a well-rounded Assistant Accountant ready to take the next step in your career.

To be successful in this role, key requirements are:

• Experience with month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
• Strong billing, accounts receivable or revenue accounting experience
• The ability to communicate confidently with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
• A hands-on, solutions-focused approach and a willingness to take initiative
• Strong attention to detail combined with commercial awareness
• Examples of achievements, improvements or projects you have delivered in previous roles
• Experience within a professional services, media, advertising, agency or project-based environment will be highly regarded, although not essential.
