Our client is an ASX-listed precious metal miner that is about to enter its long-anticipated production phase at the end of 2026.
Holding 100% owned and operated assets in Australia they are headquartered in Sydney and are looking to establish a strong, motivated finance team.
As part of their rapid project scale-up, they are strengthening the Finance team through a number of key hires.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will be critical in providing technical accounting/reporting, in what is a highly complex and inquisitive business. More specifically, the role will be responsible for the:
Lead monthly, quarterly and year-end close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and management reporting.
Maintain accurate financial records, general ledger integrity, fixed asset registers and lease accounting records.
Prepare statutory financial statements, audit working papers, technical accounting papers and accounting policy documentation.
Coordinate half-year and year-end external audits and liaise with auditors, advisers and key stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, company policies, tax obligations, statutory reporting and governance requirements.
Supervise Accounts Payable, including invoice review, payment runs, payment accuracy and supplier issue resolution.
Support budgeting, forecasting, treasury, cash flow forecasting, project accounting and financial analysis for management and operational teams.
Drive finance process improvement, ERP enhancements, automation, reporting efficiency, strategic projects, financing activities and commercial transactions.
To be considered for the Senior Corporate Accounting role, our client is targeting a candidate that is genuinely excited to establish themselves in a newly created technical and reporting role. Best placed to make this role successful are candidates that have either:
First time mover from Audit / Business Services or;
Broad, technical Group experience within a large, complex business (such as capital intense industries, such as Energy, Utilities, Renewables, Infrastructure, Mining or Property)
Recognised qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commercial coupled with CA / CPA (or equivalent)
