Our client is a respected vocational training organisation supporting employees and host employers across New South Wales. The organisation employs and supports approximately employees while managing payroll, superannuation, workers compensation, HR administration and training requirements.
The Sydney CBD office is small, friendly and welcoming, with hybrid flexibility of up to three days per week work from home available once you are established in the position.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will take ownership of the accurate weekly payroll for approximately 200 permanent full-time employees. The organisation is seeking an experienced and dependable payroll professional who can start quickly, work accurately and communicate transparently.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Processing the weekly payroll for approximately 240 permanent full-time employees
Reviewing and validating uploaded timesheets and rosters
Interpreting and applying varying EBA and award rates across the employee workforce
Checking weekly payroll variables and releasing verified payroll batches
Generating five mandatory reports to provide a clear audit trail for each payroll batch
Creating ABA files for processing by the Governance & Strategy Manager
Maintaining accurate payroll records and supporting payroll accounting compliance in Xero
To be considered for this Payroll Officer opportunity, you will bring:
Proven experience processing weekly payroll for more than 100 employees
Confidence interpreting multiple EBAs, awards and varying employee rates
Construction or related industry payroll exposure is preferred but not essential
Availability to work from the Sydney CBD office during onboarding
This is an initial three-month temporary assignment with likely extension.
