Part-time Payroll Officer

Flexible role in a family-owned business

Company Background

Our client is a family-owned business with an impressive stable history & some long tenure in the finance team. They have a focus on sustainability and the environment, and are currently entering a new chapter in their 60-year history in business.

We have placed people in this team before, and they enjoy the collaborative, family feel environment, nestled in the leafy northern beaches area.

The Role

This Payroll Officer role is part-time and can be spread relatively flexibly over the week.  The only caveat is that you do need to be on-site for at least a few hours on Monday & Tuesdays to have the weekly payroll organised.

Tasks include:

• Working with all site managers and all relevant stakeholders to ensure timely payment of the 150 employees on a weekly basis.
• Review and ensure approvals for all timesheets through the rostering system
• Monthly lodgement and reconciliation of payroll tax
• Processing all & reporting on all required payments such as superannuation, child support, parental leave, and PAYG
• Weekly payroll journals, including leave provision journals
• Payroll tax journals
• Reconciliation of all payroll balance sheet accounts

Your Background

The right candidate for our client will have/be:

• An excellent communicator
• At least 5 years of payroll experience, ideally some of this is working sole charge, but not essential
• Experience with payroll journals, payroll tax and leave reporting
• A genuine desire to work part-time
