Our client, an Australian institution, has produced internationally acclaimed live music performances for over 40 years and counting. With ticket sales continuing to grow, due to their ability to bring headline acts to Australia and with a strong line-up of artists and productions lasted for 2027 and beyond, they are well positioned to keep entertaining Australians for generations to come.
Reporting to the Finance Director and with multiple touch points across Productions, Accounting and Operations, you will support budgeting, cost control, forecasting and financial reporting across multiple live music productions.
More specifically the role will:
Prepare, review and maintain production budgets, cost estimates and forecasts.
Monitor actual spend vs. budget; investigate variances and present actionable recommendations.
Produce regular financial reporting, cash flow projections and cost summaries for stakeholders.
Review vendor invoices, payroll allocations and expense accruals in coordination with accounting.
Support month-end close and reconciliation of production ledgers and balance sheet accounts.
Ensure correct capitalization of production costs in line with accounting standards.
Provide financial guidance to production teams on cost control and contract impacts.
Assist with audit requests, risk assessments and compliance checks as required.
Mentor junior analysts and contribute to process improvements and automation.
Firstly, someone that has a passion (or at least is curious about) the Arts such as live music, theatre, circus acts or even the more intimate surrounds of a classical concert.
Secondly, has strong Management Accounting experience within the performing arts industry especially (production accounting)
Excellent analytical ability, attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
Able to manage competing deadlines across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
