Financial Controller - Professional Services

Company Background

Our client is a well-established professional services business with an excellent reputation and continuing growth plans.

They are a highly-regarded SME with over 120 staff and a presence across Australia and New Zealand. They have plans to continue their growth and expand their market presence in already established markets and services.

As a business, they offer a hybrid working arrangement (work from home two days per week) and strive to ensure a collaborative and professional environment for all staff

The Role

Reporting into a talented COO, your role as Financial Controller will enjoy an appealing breadth of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Manage, train and mentor a finance team of 4 staff (split onshore and offshore)
  • Management and oversight of the whole finance function while being hands-on with reporting, compliance, tax, budgeting, forecasting & analysis
  • Business partner with non-finance stakeholders to understand performance and deliver insights
  • Work with the leadership team on strategic financial management and to support executive decision-making
  • Oversee and drive projects
  • Document and drive best practices
  • Working closely with the Management Accountant to build value-added dashboards using Business Intelligence tools

Your Background

In order to be considered for this Financial Controller opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Professionally qualified as an Accountant (e.g. CA, ACA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Relatable industry experience is a prerequisite (e.g. Legal, Consulting, Professional Services, etc.)
  • Prior staff management experience
  • Have worked in a SME in a broad, hands-on finance role previously
  • Be a strong communicator (written and verbal) with the ability to liaise with stakeholders, motivate your team, present with confidence and build relationships
  • Possess a strong work ethic coupled with exemplary attention to detail

Our client is also willing to consider those looking for part-time positions; 4 days per week (salary would be pro-rated accordingly).
