The Role

Responsibilities would include:

  • Strategic Partner: Support the Country CEO, Group CFO, and Business Unit leaders to drive company strategy, growth initiatives, and commercial outcomes.
  • Commercial Oversight: Provide financial governance over major service contracts, pricing models, and client proposals to ensure profitability and risk management.
  • AFSL & Regulatory Compliance: Oversee financial operations in line with AFSL obligations, AASB/IFRS standards, ATO, and ASIC requirements; manage audits and statutory reporting.
  • Operational & Performance Analysis: Monitor revenue, margins, and key financial metrics; deliver insights to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes aligned with strategic goals.
  • Cash Flow & Treasury Leadership: With the support of a Treasury Manager, oversight of cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and working capital.
  • People Leadership: Mentor and manage a small & capable finance team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Risk Management & Governance: Identify and mitigate financial risks, maintain robust internal controls, and support corporate governance initiatives.

Your Background

This is a key hire for the Group. The following requirements have been given to us as essential for prospective candidates:

  • Strong foundation in audit from earlier in your career, within a Big 4 or a second-tier chartered accounting firm.
  • Hands-on experience in Tax and Treasury functions.
  • Familiarity with AFSL obligations and the ability to review/sign off on compliance matters.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Currently a Financial Controller or senior Finance Manager, comfortable managing a broad range of responsibilities across finance and operations.
