You’ll work closely with knowledgeable finance leaders who actively support development and offer genuine career progression for proven performers. This role would suit a Senior Accountant ready to step up, or a Finance Manager seeking a lateral move into a role with strong business partnering and impact.

The Role

This Finance Manager role supports the Financial Controller & CFO with the following tasks:

  • Oversight and coordination of monthly and end-of-period financial reports across multiple business units. This includes accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.GL ownership.
  • Provide key analysis with the support of the data analytics team. Crafting this into meaningful reporting for the business unit managers. This will include variance analysis, trend analysis, scenario modelling and commentary of operating results and make recommendations for cost reduction and profit improvement.
  • Support the CFO, FC and business unit leaders when evaluating the financial implications of strategic initiatives, business case reviews and operational change.
  • Ensure all financial activities meet Australian accounting standards and regulations.
  • Assist with external audits.
  • Manage one direct report, but also provide support to the other junior members in the finance team.

Your Background

  • Are fully CA, CIMA or CPA qualified.
  • We would love someone who has initially been trained in a reputable accounting firm, either Audit or Business Services. There is a first preference for candidates with this background + commerce industry experience.
  • If you have worked in the healthcare or NFP industries, that is highly desirable.
  • Strong financial reporting experience coupled with budgeting & analysis skills.
  • Are exceptional communicators. You can explain complex financial ideas with ease & write meaningful reports that bring the numbers to life for non-finance.
