Company Background

Our client is a fast-growing retailer group focused on sustainable growth and operational excellence, with many of their brands instantly recognisable around the globe. As part of their growth, they are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to strengthen their Finance function and partner with leadership to drive performance and compliance.

The Role

Key responsibilities:

• Manage a highly competent Finance Team of eight.
• Analytics & Business Partnering: provide financial analysis on performance and risk to the CFO & CEO, and give feedback to shareholders.
• Prepare consolidated annual budgets and monthly in-depth variance analysis.
• Build 3-year forecasts, cashflow models and 6-month reforecasts.
• Partner with business units to produce insight reports to hit performance targets.
• Produce periodic consolidated reporting on global/local financial performance, PPE and leases.
• Review monthly results to identify key variances and trends and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Corporate Reporting & Compliance: prepare annual consolidated financial statements (including international subsidiaries) for ASIC lodgement and quarterly statements for bank covenant reporting.
• Act as the main contact for external auditors and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare board finance presentations (management reports, revenue analysis, risk reporting, cash flow estimates). Ensure adherence to AASB 15 & AASB 16.
• Financial Control: lead month-end reporting and timetable adherence.
• Conduct monthly ledger reconciliation and working-paper reviews.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and financial information accuracy.
• Review weekly payroll, payments and direct debits.
• Manage group BAS, PAYG, FBT and other tax returns.

Your Background

To be considered for this Finance Manager opportunity, you will meet the majority of the following criteria:

• CA/CPA/ACCA or equivalent tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance preferred.
• 5+ years’ post-qualification experience in a consolidated/group finance role, ideally in retail or FMCG.
• Demonstrated experience with consolidated financial statements, audit management, covenant reporting and tax lodgements.
• Strong financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis skills.
• Practical knowledge of AASB 15 & 16 and experience with lease accounting.
