Finance Business Partner - Engineering

Company Background

Our client has an incredible portfolio of projects & clients. They have been growing year on year with an array of engineering consulting services. This is a newly created role as they are now at the size where they need valuable financial insights, automations and project profitability analysis. This role will support the Board, Directors and Operations Manager in all financial reporting & analytics.

They are an agile, fast-paced business with a great team culture. This includes hybrid working, monthly events, ongoing learning and development and a real seat at the table with decision-making.

The Role

Key responsibilities will be:

• Review internal controls and standardise reporting across the states/entities
• Improving project reporting review & analytics, working closely with the project managers
• P&L reporting and analysis across business entities & state
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Board reporting
• Manage cash flow forecasting, cash management, and working capital planning
• Ensure compliance with statutory and tax obligations, and coordinate with the external Accountant

Once this is all done, they would love someone who can start building reporting around project profitability and utilisation, automate their reports and time sheeting, and drive workflow improvements

Your Background

Our client is looking for a true business partner, someone who can influence decision-making in a collaborative and influential way.

It's key that you have/are:

• CA, CPA or CIMA qualification
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to present confidently to a board
• Experience working in a project-driven industry such as engineering, construction, architecture or media/advertising. You will understand job cost reports and utilisation analysis, and be able to improve & automate these. This is clear on your resume.
• You are currently a FBP, Finance Manager or Senior Accountant with the aforementioned qualities
• Experience in internal controls and financial reporting at some stage of your career
• A valid work visa to work permanently in Australia is essential
