Manage Diverse Client Portfolios

Company Background

Our client, a well-established accounting and advisory firm based in Sydney's CBD, is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their growing Outsourced Finance team.

As part of a national and international network, the firm provides exposure to a diverse client portfolio, modern cloud-based systems, and genuine opportunities for professional development.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, building client relationships, and managing the full bookkeeping function across multiple businesses.

You will start onsite 5 days a week with the opportunity to WFH once you have settled into the role & its tasks.  It’s a great place to work, with modern offices in the CBD and a very friendly collaborative team, so a great place to be onsite.

The Role

Working closely with clients and the wider advisory team, you will manage a small portfolio of businesses and deliver high-quality bookkeeping and payroll services.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • End-to-end bookkeeping for a portfolio of SME and mid-market clients
  • End-to-end payroll processing across a range of industries and payroll sizes
  • Preparation and lodgement of BAS, IAS and Payroll Tax returns
  • Managing payroll compliance, including superannuation, taxation and legislative requirements
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and acting as a trusted point of contact
  • Assisting clients with bookkeeping, payroll and system-related queries
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies
  • Supporting the implementation and optimisation of cloud-based accounting systems

You'll gain exposure to a variety of accounting platforms, including Xero, MYOB, Employment Hero, and other cloud-based solutions, ensuring you give yourself a strong foundation for future career opportunities.

Your Background

You are a proactive and client-focused Bookkeeper who thrives on being busy & loves continuous learning.

To be successful, you will have:

  • 4+ years of bookkeeping and payroll experience. This could be as a Finance Officer, Accounts & Administration positions or a dedicated Bookkeeper in another company.
  • Strong end-to-end payroll capability and confidence managing payroll independently
  • Exposure to a range of accounting and payroll systems, including cloud-based platforms
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are absolutely key to being a successful applicant.

It’s a bonus if you have experience within an accounting firm, outsourced finance function or multi-client bookkeeping environment, but this is not essential.
