Agriculture-Focused Finance Opportunity

Our client is a well-established and growing agricultural business with large-scale farming operations across multiple locations. The Role

You'll be responsible for core bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll support and inventory administration, while also working closely with Aggregation Managers and farm teams to ensure operational activities are accurately captured and reported.

This is far more than a transactional accounting role. You'll become a key link between finance and operations, supporting the day-to-day running of the business and helping ensure information flows effectively between the farms and head office.

The position is fully onsite, five days per week, reflecting the highly collaborative nature of the role and the close working relationships you'll develop with operational stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Accounts payable and receivable processing
  • Bank reconciliations and financial administration
  • Payroll support, such as timesheet administration
  • Inventory management, stock & fuel reconciliations
  • Financial and operational reporting support
  • Farm management systems administration, ensuring that Xero is kept up to date for all entries
  • Providing administrative support to farm managers and operational teams

Your Background

We're looking for someone who enjoys understanding how a business operates beyond the numbers and who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative environment.

You may come from a background in bookkeeping, accounts, finance administration or similar, but what will set you apart is your understanding of the agricultural sector. Please note, this doesn’t have to be in your professional life. If you grew up on a farm, had exposure in other areas of your life, that is also great! 

To be successful, you'll ideally have:

  • Solid experience in bookkeeping, accounts or finance administration, including AR, AP and bank reconciliations
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written & verbal, as you will be directly liaising with operations
  • A stable resume, where you have shown loyalty and resilience with employers
  • Experience within agriculture, agribusiness, primary production, horticulture or a related industry
