Our client is a well-established and growing agricultural business with large-scale farming operations across multiple locations. They combine modern farming practices with a strong commercial focus, ensuring they keep competitive in an industry always having to adapt & change to global & domestic conditions.
This is a rare opportunity to join a business where you'll gain genuine insight into farming operations, build relationships with farm managers and operational teams, and see firsthand how decisions made in the office impact outcomes in the field. Unlike many bookkeeping roles, you'll have the opportunity to visit farms, understand the production cycle, and become an integral part of the broader operation.
With a collaborative culture, long-term stability and a commitment to continuous improvement, this is an organisation where your contribution will be highly valued and visible.
You'll be responsible for core bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll support and inventory administration, while also working closely with Aggregation Managers and farm teams to ensure operational activities are accurately captured and reported.
This is far more than a transactional accounting role. You'll become a key link between finance and operations, supporting the day-to-day running of the business and helping ensure information flows effectively between the farms and head office.
The position is fully onsite, five days per week, reflecting the highly collaborative nature of the role and the close working relationships you'll develop with operational stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
We're looking for someone who enjoys understanding how a business operates beyond the numbers and who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative environment.
You may come from a background in bookkeeping, accounts, finance administration or similar, but what will set you apart is your understanding of the agricultural sector. Please note, this doesn’t have to be in your professional life. If you grew up on a farm, had exposure in other areas of your life, that is also great!
To be successful, you'll ideally have:
This role will suit someone who wants more than a traditional bookkeeping position and is excited by the opportunity to become embedded within a successful farming operation.
