Company Background

Our client is a leading global player in the freight forwarding industry. Their Australian operation is the golden child of the group and highly profitable. In the last few years, they have grown exponentially, and the finance team has adapted and changed to suit. This included the expansion of supporting finance roles in an overseas hub.  This key AP role works closely with operations and the ANZ operations team to ensure a smooth process for merchants and finance.

It's fast-paced, professional and yet still has that collaborative family feel. The CFO and Financial Controller are seasoned professionals and very approachable.

They offer 1 day WFH, discretionary bonuses and parking onsite. 

The Role

This role is not a staff management role in essence. While you oversee the work of the overseas AP team, they have a Team Leader on-site. Rather, this is a key conduit to the ANZ finance team, ensuring the integrity of all transactions while also using your strong AP knowledge to resolve disputes and escalations.

• Oversight of all files and reconciliations from the overseas AP team. High volume vendor management with review of complex statements.
• Working through escalations and issues with the Financial Controller and AP Team Lead to ensure satisfactory dispute resolution.
• Process local daily automated supplier runs for COD (Cash on delivery) invoices.  
• The role is responsible for some treasury and FX tasks, including FX and intercompany transactions.

Your Background

To be considered for this role, you are a seasoned AP professional who loves what you do. Key skills required are:

• A minimum of 5 years in a full-function AP role in a high-volume (100+ per week) environment.  Ideally, with statements with multiple invoices.
• You have been either a Senior AP Officer, AP Team lead, or Supervisor previously, able to resolve escalations and disputes from merchants.
• You have excellent communication skills.
• There is a preference for candidates with exposure to treasury & FX tasks, but not essential if all other criteria are met.
