The Role

This Financial Controller role is very hands on. While you do get involved in the higher level work, you are going to be working on the transactional and month end tasks that lead to this financial reporting & analysis.

Tasks will include:

  • Managing the monthly financial and Board reporting

  • Measuring company performance against external and internal benchmarks

  • Preparation of GST, FBT, Payroll and Corporate Income Tax returns

  • Identifying areas to improve business efficiencies and reduce costs

  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accurate numbers for the board & PE stakeholder review

  • Completion of the monthly accruals, journals, fixed assets and depreciation schedules

  • Managing the general ledger including overseeing the monthly balance sheet, banking and inter-company reconciliations

  • Accounts Payable & Payroll processing

There is the potential to hire a junior accounts person to support this role in the future.

Your Background

Our client is looking for an experienced Finance Manager or Controller from a smaller (<A$50m t/o) business background.

You will be someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, really working on the accounting function autonomously to produce meaningful reports and commentary.

Experience working in a Private Equity backed organisation is on the top of the list of desirables.

In person you are approachable, friendly and innovative. On your resume we are looking for achievements around cost savings, reporting writing and systems improvements.

Excellent communication skills and a CA or CPA qualification skills are expected.
