The Role

This is a Senior Tax Accountant position within a growing business advisory practice. The role offers the opportunity to manage client relationships, take ownership of key portfolios, and contribute to the firm’s ongoing growth and development.

You’ll be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax and compliance work, supporting advisory engagements, and providing clients with strategic financial guidance. Depending on performance and fit, this role offers a clear pathway from temporary to permanent employment and long-term career growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and lodge company tax returns, BAS, and related compliance documents
• Complete end-of-year financials and bring files to near-final review for sign-off
• Provide advisory support to clients experiencing financial or restructuring challenges
• Identify strategies to improve cash flow, profitability, and overall business performance
• Maintain accurate financial records using Xero, QuickBooks, and Excel
• Collaborate closely with senior accountants and management to ensure timely, accurate reporting

Your Background

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Strong preference for short notice or immediately available candidates
• At least 5 years’ experience in tax and compliance (minimum 3 years dedicated to Australian tax)
• CPA or CA (or near completion)
• Strong communication and client relationship management skills
• Technical proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel
