Our client is one of Australia’s leading deliverers of critical infrastructure, and a household name within the utility space. A recent decision to improve the internal delivery and presentation of reporting and analysis has identified the need for a Senior Financial Analyst to join the team. With a strong WFH culture, they can offer 2 days working from home.
This role sits in one of the largest divisions, where a number of the business’s key (and largest) projects are delivered. The team is packed full of smart, driven analysts who are led and mentored by some of Sydney’s foremost finance leaders in the Infrastructure space.
On a day-to-day basis, the role will involve:
Managing the reporting, analysis and controls for a portfolio of key build projects
Completing end-to-end month-end tasks and providing in-depth and meaningful insights into the financial performance
Lead and coordinate the preparation of annual budgets and business plan for the business unit,
Partnering with the business stakeholders to source financial and non-financial information for the preparation of reporting and on the development of the financial forecasts and analysis
Input into the monthly group management & executive reporting
Key interactions with Commercial Managers / Finance Business Partners / Corporate Finance and other teams on the development of the financial forecasts and analysis
Supporting the business with ad hoc financial and commercial analysis and reports as required
Continually monitoring accuracy and improving dashboard reporting using Power BI
Month-end close activities including the processing of month-end journals
Systems maintenance and ensuring project setups are within the business rules
Ad hoc financial analysis including modelling
This is very much ‘not your typical Accountant’ role and will have the opportunity to really have a meaningful impact in helping the delivery of key reporting and analysis for their projects.
To be considered our client would love to meet candidates who have:
Commercial smarts and the ability to influence through business partnering
Strong foundational understanding of project accounting principles and exposure to cashflow reporting and project finance would be a significant advantage.
Candidates out of Infrastructure, Property (or similar capital-intensive industries) would also be useful, but not essential.
CA / CPA qualified.
