Based in Sydney’s SouthWest, they now have a rare opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join their Finance team.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager (and sitting within a wider Finance Team of 20), this Senior Financial Accountant role has several key functions, including:

• Managing an Assistant Accountant and mentoring other members of the Finance Team.
• Assist the Finance Manager with month-end close activities and the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheet, investment, foundation, and cash flow statements.
• Oversee the preparation and lodgement of GST, FBT, and other statutory returns, and support the Finance Manager in coordinating and preparing for audits.
• Analyse financial performance to identify key trends and variances, providing insights that inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including maintaining asset registers and calculating depreciation.
• Monitor and report on cash flow and treasury activities, including managed fund portfolios and cash flow forecasting.
• Lead the review and analysis of monthly payroll postings and reconciliations (prior month and budget comparisons), working closely with the Payroll Analyst to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance through regular internal audits of payroll transactions and system changes.
• Prepare and submit statutory and regulatory reports, including ACFR, QFR, Workers’ Compensation, Crown Land, Fair Trading, grant acquittals, ABS Survey, ACNC and benchmarking returns.

Your Background

• Aged / Community Care or NFP backgrounds
• Strong leadership credentials that can inspire, direct and mentor staff
• Experience with Payroll accounting 
• CA / CPA qualified
