Senior Financial Accountant Role in Financial Services

The Role

As the Senior Accountant, you will sit in a corporate office environment and report to a Group Reporting Manager. Your duties will include:

• Prepare and review statutory, management, and group financial statements and reports.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory/prudential requirements.
• Manage general ledger, month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Coordinate external audits and produce audit-ready working papers.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, tax compliance, internal controls, governance, and process automation.
• Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff and produce ad hoc financial analysis for management.

Your Background

To be considered for this Senior Financial Accountant role, you will meet the majority of the following:

• Strong technical expertise in IFRS and local statutory/prudential reporting, with experience with APRA-regulated entities or prudential reporting preferred.
• Experience in leasing, asset-based finance or funding structures; familiarity with SAP, Navision (or similar ERPs) is advantageous.
• Advanced Excel skills, experience with automation/finance transformation, strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication, ability to explain accounting to non-finance colleagues.
