Company Background

Join a rapidly expanding global organisation leading the way in the renewable energy sector. With a growing presence across Australia and a strong international track record, our client is delivering large-scale clean energy infrastructure to support the nation’s transition to a more sustainable future.

Renowned for its fast-paced growth, collaborative culture, and clear strategic vision, this is your chance to be part of an industry that’s shaping the energy landscape for generations to come. This is a business you will be proud to work for!

As the organisation continues to scale quickly, it is expanding both its operations and workforce across Australia. This presents an exciting opportunity to step into a newly created role where you will play a significant part.

The Role

In this unique Senior Finance Manager role, you’ll have the chance to design and implement processes, systems, and automation from the ground up. You will build a scalable and efficient foundation that supports ongoing success and ambitious growth plans.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this Senior Finance Manager role will be regarded as the business’s technical and reporting lead, will manage an offshore team and duties will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Oversee the month-end close process, managing the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Own the full group consolidation across multiple entities, including intercompany eliminations and adjustments
  • Prepare quarterly management accounts for lenders and financial reports for Investment Committee updates
  • Lead the preparation of annual financial statements and coordinate all audit activities
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and ensure compliance with AASB/IFRS across the group
  • Liaise with overseas finance teams to align on accounting policies and intercompany arrangements
  • Review and approve key journals (e.g. accruals, prepayments, asset movements)
  • Oversee intercompany transactions and reconciliations across jurisdictions
  • Monitor the finance team outputs for accuracy and audit readiness
  • Support cash flow forecasting and treasury operations with accurate accounting inputs
  • Coordinate statutory compliance for Australian entities (payroll tax, FBT, income tax), managing external advisors

Your Background

To be considered for this Senior Finance Manager role, our client is targeting a candidate who is genuinely excited to establish themselves in a newly created technical and reporting role. The best placed to make this role successful are candidates who have:

  • Strong academic background coupled with a CA/CPA (or equivalent) qualification
  • Proven expertise in financial reporting within complex, multi-entity environments
  • Demonstrated experience preparing group statutory accounts under IFRS and leading external audits, including resolving technical accounting matters
  • Sound technical knowledge of IFRS and Australian tax compliance
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail and a hands-on approach to meeting tight deadlines
  • Worked within large complex businesses (ideally within capital-intensive industries such as energy, utilities, infrastructure, mining, property or similar…)
