The Role

Your role as Senior Accountant will be broad and varied with a focus on analysis, forecasting, structuring and stakeholder engagement. This is a unique position that will provide you with excellent exposure across the organisation.

You will work as part of a finance team of 18, have one direct report initially (team will expand), and play a key role in looking after a variety of duties within the Development business unit.

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage and oversee the work of the Assistant Accountant
  • Lead cash flow forecasting across all developments and SPVs, including scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis
  • Work closely with Development Managers to understand key lifecycle milestones, delivery risks and cost-to-complete positions.
  • Consolidated portfolio reporting, providing clear insights and commentary for the leadership team
  • Issue monthly management accounts to external equity partners
  • Evaluate the impact of debt structures, equity arrangements and JV funding models on project returns and cash flows
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across forecasting, reporting and analytical tools and processes
  • Month-end and year-end financial reporting with the support of your team
  • Consider tax implications across SPV structures, equity distributions and project specific treatments
  • Work with Group Treasury to ensure efficient funding structures

Your Background

In order to be considered for this Senior Accountant position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Professionally qualified as an Accountant - CA / CPA / CIMA / ACCA (or equivalent)
  • Have worked in property development, real estate, asset owner or a highly relatable industry
  • Prior experience in the majority of the aforementioned tasks
  • Strong grounding as an Accountant with a solid background incorporating forecasting, analysis, financial reporting and tax  
  • Excellent communication abilities to effectively business partner with multiple stakeholders and liaise with external parties & investors with confidence
  • Ambitious and wanting to learn, develop and progress your career
