The Role

This Property Accountant role will support the team with the following tasks:

• Manage ad-hoc property-related projects as delegated by the Head of Finance.
• Provide system support for MRI, acting as the primary point of contact for all internal users.
• Review monthly Income & Expenditure (I&E) reports prepared by Centre Managers.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including the Head of Finance, on budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Obtain and analyse explanations for budget variances from Centre Managers, preparing clear commentary for the Head of Finance and, where relevant, the Head of Retail.
• Investigate timing differences between budgeted and actual results to ensure accurate accruals are recorded and to support variance analysis.
• Perform month-end balance sheet reconciliations for major retail entities.
• Prepare and process Australia Post credit card journals.
• Manage promotional sweep reconciliations and related reporting.

Your Background

To be considered for this great Property Accountant opportunity, we are looking for candidates who:

• Have exceptional English communication skills. You need to be able to explain and ask for information from Centre Managers, Developers and the Directors of the business
• The client is looking to hire someone who is currently in a Property Accountant role.  They may consider an Assistant accountant who is ready to step up, who has been working in a property management company – one of these profiles is non-negotiable.
• You must also be happy to join your team in the office 5 days a week.
• Someone ambitious, eager to learn and add value is the right kind of person for this role!

Unfortunately, the client will not consider candidates residing overseas or who do not have permanent visas to work in Australia.
