Project Accounting Role in a Growing Construction Firm

Company Background

Well-established multi-disciplinary design and construction studio with 50+ years’ experience and a reputation as an industry leader. Operating nationwide, they specialise in hotel and hospitality projects of all sizes, delivering high-quality, end-to-end solutions.

The Role

This Project Accountant role is varied and broad. Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the project accounting, including payment claims, schedules, and reconciliations.
• Monitoring project financial performance, costs, WIP, and billing milestones.
• Assisting in tracking project profitability through cost analysis and reporting.
• Managing the month-end close, financial reports, and supporting schedules.
• Performing bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations; support statutory compliance.
• Contributing to improving financial systems, processes, and reporting efficiency.

Your Background

The ideal candidate background will include an array of the following attributes:

• CA or CPA qualified (or near completion) with 5+ years’ finance experience, ideally in project-based industries.
• Strong project accounting knowledge, including WIP, percentage-of-completion, revenue recognition, and financial cycles.
• Experience supporting project teams with cost tracking, billing, and profitability analysis.
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills to produce clear management reporting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management, confident engaging with Directors and senior leaders.
• Commercially minded, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced project environment.
