Payroll Supervisor - Infrastructure - North Shore

They offer the ability to stagger your hours and also work from home 2 days a week.

The Role

As the 2ic in the payroll function, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensure the timely and accurate payment of all pay runs for all employees on a weekly and fortnightly basis for 2500+ employees.
  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process and proactively locate ways to maintain payroll system integrity.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and supervision to a team of 2-3 payroll officers.
  • Become the 2IC of the payroll manager as required.
  • Stay abreast of changes in payroll legislation, tax regulations, and superannuation requirements.
  • Assist payroll manager in developing and maintaining payroll policies and procedures to be in line with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and organisational objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to the team in resolving/reviewing complex payroll calculations and transactions such as bonuses, commissions, variable pay and terminations.
  • Develop and run payroll reports for multiple stakeholders including financial reports, leave reports, and payroll analytics.

Your Background

The hiring manager is looking for candidates with the following experience:

Essential

  • Staff management or supervision of payroll officers.
  • Senior level of payroll experience 7/8 years +.
  • Strong ability to interpret and adhere to EBAs and awards across states.
  • Great communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts to stakeholders.
  • Have worked across a payroll size of 1000+ employees.

Highly desirable

  • Experience in systems or project transformations on your resume.
