Company Background

Our client is a leading construction company delivering projects across Australia. Due to a 12-month parental leave cover, they are seeking an immediately available Payroll Team Leader / Payroll Manager to support the business.

Based in North Sydney, this is a hybrid role offering 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home, joining a supportive payroll function within a strong culture.

The Role

You will lead and run a weekly payroll for approximately 600+ employees, while managing and supporting a team of 4-5. Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Managing and running weekly payroll end-to-end (approx. 600 employees)
• Leading, coaching and supporting a payroll team (4-5 staff)
• Hands-on payroll processing plus oversight of accuracy, compliance and controls
• Investigating and resolving payroll queries and issues
• Working closely with HR and finance stakeholders

Your Background

To be considered for this Payroll Team Leader / Payroll Manager role, you will ideally have:

• Immediate availability (or no longer than 1 week's notice) with full-time working rights
• Prior experience as a Payroll Manager or Payroll Team Leader
• Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with stakeholders
• Strong ability to retain information and pivot quickly in a dynamic, complex setting
