Commercial Finance Leadership

Company Background

Our client is a fantastic independent media agency who have adapted and innovated to ensure their continued success. Working closely with the Directors and automations team, this role will help drive change & ensure an effective finance function.

The role can be 3 or 4 days depending on your relevant experience.

The Role

This role provides support for the business from tasks such as business performance analysis for the MD, to ordering stationery if required. It’s a true ‘all hands on deck’ SME environment so we are looking for individuals who love that kind of culture!

Commercial Support

  • Development of financial plans including budgeting and forecasting for the short and long term
  • Analysing business performance, including the profitability, revenue, pricing and WIP
  • Assist Head of Client Services and with retainer negotiations and review of quarterly and annual reconciliations to highlight and renegotiate for best outcomes

Operational Finance responsibilities

  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Payroll for permanent and contractor staff
  • Full ownership of the month-end process including ensuring the completion of the General Ledger, balance sheet journals, reconciliations and production of the P&L reports
  • BAS preparation
  • Oversee AP & AR tasks completed by the Accounts Assistant

Your Background

We are looking for candidates who love a broad role and having full oversight of finance.

The hiring managers are very keen to meet with candidates that also meet the following profile:

  • Experience in a media/advertising or similar industry, with a strong understanding of WIP, revenue recognition and billings
  • An FM or FC looking for a broad role, an ability and willingness to scale up or down in tasks to suit business needs.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A candidate who loves to embrace innovation and technology and has shown to be systems savvy!!
  • Able to start a new role in June and commit to the 12 month contract. 
  • Ideally you are CA or CPA qualified, however if you have strong industry experience, the client is still very happy to consider your background.
