Company Background

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a successful manufacturing company that has secured an exciting pipeline of long-term contracts with blue-chip businesses, which will rapidly scale up the business further. 

Due to the business growth, they have established this role to help them on their next stage of the journey. Reporting directly to an experienced and highly supportive CFO, you'll be given the autonomy to shape the finance function while partnering closely with operational leaders to drive business performance. The business has a great team-oriented culture, is still founder-led, and in finance they have built up a great team.

The Role

This is far more than a traditional financial control position. You'll combine strong technical accounting expertise with commercial insight, helping the business make better operational and strategic decisions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and mentoring the finance team
  • Leading the month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting process
  • Preparing statutory financial statements and managing the external audit
  • Treasury management, cash flow forecasting and working capital optimisation
  • Ensuring strong financial governance, internal controls and compliance
  • Managing taxation and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Coordinating the annual budget and forecasting process
  • Delivering meaningful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Partnering with operations to improve business performance and profitability
  • Providing detailed pricing, margin and cost analysis to support commercial decisions
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems, reporting and financial processes

Your Background

We're looking for someone who enjoys operating across both the finance and commercial business partnering. You'll ideally bring:

  • CA, CPA, CIMA or ACCA qualification
  • Experience as a Financial Controller or Group Financial Controller within manufacturing, wholesale. engineering, industrial environments
  • Strong broad accounting skills with companies that are growing
  • Experience leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to analyse pricing, margins and operational performance
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop and inspire a finance team
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to partner with senior stakeholders
