About the Company

Our client partners with ambitious founders to build, scale and fund high-quality businesses across Australia. With a strong reputation in the startup and scale-up ecosystem, they provide strategic, commercial and financial expertise at critical stages of growth.

They are now seeking an experienced Fractional CFO to join the team and lead finance across a portfolio of clients.

This is a highly visible, client-facing role where you will operate as the most senior finance voice in the room, working directly with founders and leadership teams to shape strategy, drive growth and support key decision-making.

The Opportunity

As a trusted advisor, you will take ownership of the finance function across multiple high-growth businesses, helping them navigate complex and fast-moving environments.

You will:

• Act as the lead Fractional CFO across a portfolio of startup and scale-up clients
• Partner closely with founders on strategy, cash flow, runway, pricing, hiring and growth decisions
• Own forecasting, board reporting and delivery of investor-ready financials
• Support capital raises, debt funding, grants and M&A activity
• Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable commercial insights
• Collaborate with internal accounting, tax, R&D and advisory teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Contribute to new business development through your network and participation in industry events

About You

This role is suited to experienced Financial Controllers or CFOs who thrive in dynamic, entrepreneurial environments and enjoy working closely with founders.

You will bring:

• Prior experience as a Fractional CFO or a track record of leading multiple businesses through startup and scale-up phases
• Strong commercial acumen with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach
• Experience supporting funding rounds, investor engagement and strategic decision-making
• The ability to communicate complex financial concepts in a clear and practical way
• Energy, drive and a genuine interest in building a career within the fractional CFO space
