Our client is highly respected in their industry, with almost 50 years in business. Based in fantastic, vibrant offices on the city fringe, the team is smaller & close-knit. They rely heavily on this role to ensure the smooth running of the agency, and that all their long-term clients feel cared for & have an available point of contact for queries.

It’s a fast-paced, people-focused business where no two days are the same. You will love thinking on your feet, being able to work from strategy to rolling up your sleeves to help in whatever keeps the ship sailing!

The Role

This finance role directly supports the owners of the business in the following areas:

• Overseeing day-to-day management and financial operations with a small team of direct reports

• Management reporting for the board & Directors, including key analysis on talent agreements, utilisation reporting, job cost reports and billings per client.

• Negotiated lease agreements & service agreements on fixed assets.

• Ensuring compliance with all industry standards & regulations.

• Oversight of month-end reporting and payroll for two proprietary limited entities.

• Working closely with Talent agents on agency agreements & contracts to ensure financial viability. Being across any regulatory changes in the industry that affect talent agreements.

• Ensuring compliance with statutory law, finance, and tax regulation.

• Supporting Directors on annual budgeting process & cash flow reports. Identifying relevant key business drivers and challenges to the industry.

Your Background

Our client is eager to hire someone who has experience working in Media, TV, the Arts or a creative agency environment. It’s key that you understand talent agreements.

You are an experienced Financial Controller with a CA/CPA or similar professional qualification.

Ideally, you have worked in a smaller organisation and can roll up your sleeves to help with any task that affects finance. It’s a hands-on position where the owners will very much rely on you for advice, ad-hoc reporting and analysis for business decisions. No task is too small or too big!

In person, you are outgoing, approachable and love working with non-finance.
