Financial Controller - Logistics

Company Background

The Role

You will lead the finance department in Australia, reporting directly to a highly experienced MD as well as the Group CFO based off-shore.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Take full ownership of financial and management reporting, including consolidated group reporting.

• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process.

• Oversee cash flow management.

• Conduct in-depth margin analysis to optimise revenue and profitability.

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including audits, statutory reporting, and tax obligations.

• Manage key stakeholder relationships, including auditors.

• Mentor and lead a small, experienced team.

• Drive ad hoc projects and financial analysis as needed.

Your Background

To be considered for this Financial Controller role, you will ideally meet the following criteria:

• Qualified Accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).

• 10+ years of experience leading finance teams.

• Extensive expertise in both financial control and FP&A.

• Proven track record of driving commercial outcomes.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a team-first mentality.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, both within finance and externally.

• Experience reporting to an overseas group is advantageous but not essential.

• Industry experience is not required but would be beneficial.
