Finance Leadership Role Supporting Strategic Growth

Company Background

Our client is a well-known charitable organisation that works with the most vulnerable.

It’s a small, friendly team, located in bright, modern offices on the North Shore.

This role supports the CEO, P&C Director and other key senior stakeholders as the business improves its finance function to provide transparency & governance in the business.  It’s an exciting time to join as they adapt & change to be successful in the increasingly competitive charitable sector.

Backed by a huge donor pool and grants, they are in a great position to help the families that lean on them.

They have WFH flexibility, a very collaborative team dynamic and great support from the other senior leaders to ensure your success in this role.

The Role

Responsibilities will include:

  • Review all financial functions—accounts payable, payroll, treasury, and grant compliance—to maintain sound financial governance.
  • Work with executives and department heads to provide financial insights that support operational and strategic goals.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management and continuous improvement of finance and CRM systems, ensuring they operate effectively and deliver reliable data to support business decision-making.
  • Prepare financial forecasts, strategic projections, and models aligned with business objectives.
  • Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including variance analysis to support decision-making.
  • Oversee internal audits and compliance, ensuring effective controls and risk management.

Your Background

We are looking for a Finance Manager, Controller, or SME Head of Finance from an NFP/Charity background or similar.

Other key requirements:

  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Ideally, someone who can start in the next 2-3 weeks
  • Have clear examples on your resume of workflow efficiencies & automations, creating robust and transparent reporting
  • Risk & Compliance experience.
  • Staff Management
  • Excellent communication skills.  You will be the main point of contact for the auditors, Board & CEO
  • Agile enough to be hands-on in the accounting where required, but also able to scale up to support the CEO on strategic decision-making.
