Our client is an ASX listed and successful building supplies group. They are well established, having operated for more than 100 years and operate nationally with more than 600 staff across more than 20 branches. 

This client has experienced continuous growth over the last five years, and they are now on the search to find an energetic Financial Accountant to join them. Culturally, they have a well tenured team with experienced and driven senior management who guide their continued success. 

This is a business that offers the opportunity to work from home after you have completed training and demonstrated confidence to use their ERP system and work autonomously in the role. 

The Role

As the Financial Accountant, your role will be multi-faceted and allow you to play a meaningful part in the continued growth of the business. This is a reporting and month-end focused role that includes:  

• Preparing balance sheet and inter-company reconciliations. 
• Assisting with preparation of board papers. 
• Maintaining the fixed asset register.
• Preparing monthly branches profitability report and analyse variance against budgets. 
• Assisting with year-end audit and reporting. 
• Assisting with the preparation of BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax Reconciliation, Workers’ Compensation and ABS.
• Prepare payroll journal and complete payroll reconciliation for network of branches. 
• Stakeholder management with branch managers to discuss P/L results.

Your Background

To be considered for this Financial Accountant opportunity you will be:

• Degree qualified and either part or fully CPA / CA qualified or equivalent qualification 
• Proven working experience with month-end processes and reporting at either the Assistant Accountant or Financial Accountant level
• Desire to work hard, learn and cope with a fast-paced environment 
• It is essential that you are a confident communicator (both written and verbal)

The ideal candidate is someone at the Assistant Accountant level who is ready to step up in their career to become a Financial Accountant.
