Company Background

Our client is a not-for-profit Tier 1 Community Housing Provider committed to providing safe, secure, and affordable housing for those most in need. With over 1,500 homes, sheltering 2,500 people, they believe housing is more than a roof over one’s head, it’s the foundation for hope, dignity, and inclusion.

The Role

Reporting to the CFO and managing a finance team of six, the key responsibilities will be to:

• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS, AASB) and internal policies.
• Manage the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow forecasting.
• Support budgeting, financial modelling, and forecasting activities.
• Oversee grant reporting and ensure funds are used in line with donor guidelines.
• Assist in annual audits and statutory financial reporting.
• Supervise and support the Finance team (Accountant, Accounts Payable/Receivable).
• Contribute to strategic initiatives and finance-related projects.
• Maintain bank relationships and monitor funding arrangements.

Your Background

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar financial accounting role (not-for-profit experience preferred).
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or related field and CPA/CA qualification.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central highly regarded).
• Excellent time-management, communication, and reconciliation skills.
