Global Manufacturing Finance Role

The Company

This is the Australian subsidiary of a global industrial manufacturing business with a strong heritage and a genuinely collaborative culture. The local team is small, experienced and long-tenured - people stay here because the environment is supportive, the work is meaningful, and the business has real substance behind it.

Sydney office operates as a tight-knit hub for the Australian and regional finance function. You will work closely with senior leadership and have visibility across the broader group, including international entities and a US-listed parent company.

Key highlights include:

  • Direct access to the local Managing Director and senior leadership
  • Stable, values-driven business with a genuine care for its people
  • Expanding regional footprint with real involvement in building something new

The Role

This is a Finance Manager position with genuine end-to-end ownership of the Australian finance function. You will be responsible for the full accounting cycle while also supporting regional entities and partnering closely with the MD to provide commercial insight.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Full ownership of the month-end close - GL, P&L, balance sheet and reconciliations
  • Management reporting and variance analysis against the budget and forecasts
  • Annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting
  • Australian tax and regulatory compliance - GST, FBT, payroll tax and company tax
  • Quarterly reporting to the US parent, including internal controls and SOX framework
  • Payroll processing, AP oversight and approvals
  • Inventory and production cost accounting
  • Supporting a strong regional accountant with reporting requirements
  • Driving systems and process improvements, including setup for planned expansion

Your Background

You are a technically strong, commercially minded accountant who is equally comfortable producing the numbers and explaining what they mean. You thrive in a small team environment, can work autonomously and enjoy building relationships across a business.

Ideal background includes:

  • CA or CPA qualified
  • 10 years’ experience across financial accounting, management reporting and compliance
  • Australian tax compliance experience - GST, FBT, payroll tax, company tax
  • Strong communicator - able to partner with and present to non-finance stakeholders
  • Self-starter who takes ownership and doesn't need close direction
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial or production environment (highly regarded)
  • Exposure to SOX or a US-listed reporting environment
  • Navision or Business Central experience
