Finance Manager - Family Office

Company Background

This is a rare opportunity to step into a long-standing role supporting a well-known and respected Australian family whose flagship business is one of Australia’s pre-eminent constructors. The incumbent is retiring, leaving behind a well-established position focused on end-to-end financial management for the family members.

You’ll report directly to a highly respected and technically astute CFO with a long history in the business. This is a rare blend of autonomy and support in a trusted, long-term role.

The Role

• Manage all accounting and financial records for the family members, including investment portfolios and property assets

• Oversee taxation matters for the family (with support from external advisers including Big 4 firms) including PAYG, BAS and FBT

• Ensure adherence to tax regulations and implement strategies to optimise tax positions

• Maintain cashflow and oversee fund management

• Implement strategies to ensure adequate liquidity to support business operations

• Handle insurance, accounts payable/receivable, and payments

• Liaise with external advisers and consultants

• Manage company secretarial responsibilities

Ideal Candidate Profile:

We are open to seasoned professionals or up-and-coming finance specialists looking for a 2–3 year growth opportunity. A strong technical tax background is essential, ideally with experience in:

• High-net-worth individual tax affairs

• Family office environments

• Big 4 / 2nd tier firms with tax or CFO advisory would be fabulous (and useful)

• Resilient and pragmatic – able to handle a direct, fast-paced environment

• Happy to wear multiple hats – from shaping tax strategy to processing invoices

• Technically strong, with excellent attention to detail

• CA / CPA qualified
