Coupled with high-profile product successes, recent and significant revenue growth has accelerated a number of their R&D programs, leading to a range of further products being developed globally.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO and Board, your role as Chief Financial Officer will have stewardship of Finance, Procurement, and IT. Whilst it will partner with the CEO and Board on strategy, planning and all commercial aspects, it nevertheless remains a relatively hands-on position managing a compact team. Key areas of oversight are:

Corporate Affairs & Governance

  • Oversee share registry, shareholder relations, and governance committees.
  • Ensure compliance with ASX listing rules.
  • Administer staff share and option plans.

Board & CEO Support

  • Provide strategic and operational financial advice to the Board and CEO.
  • Support the CEO in shareholder communications.
  • Undertake additional duties as directed by the CEO and Board.

Business Strategy

  • Work with ELT to define and execute the company strategy.
  • Develop financial business plans aligned to strategy.

Financial Management

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Monitor performance against budget and report regularly.
  • Conduct risk management of liabilities and investments.
  • Set investment strategies and oversee capital structure.
  • Manage cash flow and vendor relationships.
  • Maintain finance reporting systems and financial IT infrastructure.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Oversee legal compliance and coordinate with legal counsel.
  • Maintain statutory, legal, and financial obligations.
  • Manage contract administration and register.
  • Oversee the enterprise risk register and audit risk practices.

Procurement

  • Ensure cost-effective procurement strategies.
  • Manage supplier and contractor risk with QA and regulatory teams.

Information Technology

  • Oversee IT operations and external providers.
  • Maintain and review business continuity plans.

Your Background

To be considered for this unique CFO opportunity, our client is particularly interested in applicants with:

  • Experience working within an ASX-listed (ideally small cap) business.
  • Substantial experience as a Financial Controller and is ready for the next step up in their career, or is already an established Chief Financial Officer.
  • Experience with capital raising and managing external investor communications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence non-finance relationships during a time of organisational evolution.
  • Professionally qualified as an Accountant (e.g. CA / CPA / ACCA or equivalent).
