Rare part-time lead finance opportunity

Richard Lloyd has been exclusively retained to recruit a Part-Time CFO (three days a week) for a successful, Australian-owned, medium sized technology-enabled payments and financial services business. The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO and acting as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, this is a broad and commercially focused CFO opportunity that combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational responsibility. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial direction of the business while ensuring the highest standards of governance, compliance and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead all aspects of the finance function, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial control and commercial analysis.
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing Finance team of five staff, including a talented Financial Controller
- Partner with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to develop and execute business strategy and support future growth
- Drive profitability, operational efficiency and cost management across the organisation
- Lead finance systems, automation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide commercial insight and financial analysis to support key business decisions
- Lead treasury, liquidity management and financial controls within a complex, regulated business
- Oversee risk management, corporate governance and statutory compliance
- Hold Company Secretary responsibilities
- Manage relationships with banks, auditors, regulators and other key stakeholders
Your Background
This opportunity will suit a commercially minded CFO who enjoys balancing strategic leadership with hands-on operational involvement in a regulated, technology-enabled environment.
To be successful in this role you will meet the following requirements:
- CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent professional accounting qualification, together with previous experience operating as a CFO
- Experience as a Company Secretary
- Experience within regulated financial services, payments, fintech or similarly complex environments
- Proven leadership across FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial control
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive profitability, cash flow, operational performance and strategic decision-making
- Demonstrated success partnering with CEOs and Executive Leadership Teams to influence business strategy and deliver sustainable growth
- Experience leading treasury, governance, risk management and statutory compliance within a regulated financial services or payments environment
- Strong financial modelling capabilities, with exposure to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) viewed favourably
- Exceptional analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information, present commercial insights clearly, and build credibility with Boards, executive leaders and a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to develop and lead high-performing teams of similar size
