Business Analyst/Finance Business Partner - Financial Services - CBD

Company Background

Our client is an established and reputable financial services/insurance business with a global presence. Locally they are a medium-sized organisation with a rapidly-expanding footprint.

Led by a friendly and charismatic CFO, the team is welcoming, collaborative and talented. They allow a combination of working from home and the office and enjoy a high-performance team culture.

As a result of a recent successful global deal, this newly created role exists to understand, design and onboard a new account partnership with another significant and well-known business.

As the successful applicant, you will join this organisation at an exciting time and will enjoy fascinating exposure whilst also taking on a broad project focused, business partnering and analytical remit.

The Role

Your role as Business Analyst / Finance Business Partner will report to and act as the right-hand person to the CFO. Supporting him (and being trained by him), your duties will cover an appealing mix of analysis, project work and stakeholder management to ensure a successful partnership is mapped out and works seamlessly moving forward. 

Tasks will include working with the CFO to design financial workflows, managing financial records, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support the company’s financial operations and strategic goals. 

Other key duties will include accurate and timely reporting of financial results, FP&A, maintenance of financial models and analysis to support business decisions. You will be responsible for identifying trends, driving operational efficiencies and ensuring alignment between both parties’ stakeholders. 

Your Background

In order to be considered for this Business Analyst / Finance Business Partner role you will meet the following criteria:

  • Proven experience in a significant project or integration relating to the above is a pre-requisite. 
  • Relatable industry experience; e.g. insurance, financial services, underwriting or equivalent. 
  • A background in accounting with the ability to understand financial workflows, financial models and analyse variances. 
  • Have a ‘can-do’ attitude and ability to take on a project-flavoured role coupled with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with multiple stakeholders and play an active role in meetings.
  • Intermediate to advanced level of Excel. 
  • Willingness to travel to Queensland once a month for 1-2 days for meetings.
