Business Analyst (Operations) - Retail

Our client is a multi-site retail chain with a great story behind it. They have had an impressive trajectory over the past 20 years. From humble beginnings, they are now a household name.
They are looking at big plans for the next financial year, looking to expand with more stores in the pipeline and a focus on their logistics & warehousing capabilities.
Enjoy working in a large business, with a family feel. Direct lines through to Senior Management and reporting to the Head of Finance. Based in Western Sydney with parking onsite or very close to the public transport.
The Role
This Business Analyst role will be multi-faceted and able to partner with a variety of stakeholders to be the ‘go-to’ finance person for actionable insights. Some projects & areas you will cover are:
- Business partnering with various operational stakeholders to report and investigate key KPIs.
- Working on projects related to fleet management, logistics, warehousing and property management.
- Identifying key drivers and deliverable shortcomings to improve productivity and revenue gaps.
- Data-Driven Insights: Conduct in-depth analysis of financial performance across multiple Distribution Centres in Australia identifying key drivers and impacts, and recommending corrective actions.
- Supporting freight and warehouse budgeting processes with robust data and reporting.
- Utilise optimisation models, to develop and implement logistics strategies that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimise resources.
- Reviewing the fleet & asset base for purchasing decisions.
- Champion the development of robust commercial models to inform pricing strategies, tenders, and investment cases.
Your Background
The right candidate for our client will be:
- Degree minimum in a relevant field. A foundation understanding earlier in your career in Accounting is ideal.
- Currently a Financial, Business or Commercial Analyst working with operational stakeholders on key drivers.
- Ideally, you have worked in retail, franchise or a multi-site operation.
- Experience on the resume of data analysis, report writing and creating dashboards to present information in a meaningful way.
- Strong communication skills and an enthusiasm for supporting non-financial stakeholders across a business.
- High commercial acumen.
High preference at this stage is for any experience with logistics analysis, fleet/asset management & analysis.
Candidates will need to be living in Australia with a visa to work permanently.
