The Role

The Assistant Finance Manager supports the financial oversight of the Australia and New Zealand region. Working closely with the regional finance lead, this role liaises with shared services, commercial teams, and broader corporate functions across the APAC region.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the month-end close process for ANZ, delivering timely and accurate financial reports with meaningful insights
• Provide commercial analysis and maintain dashboards to support data-driven decision-making
• Manage external audits, statutory accounts, and tax obligations, including BAS, GST, and FBT
• Support the development and implementation of internal controls and financial policies
• Drive process improvements and contribute to finance system enhancement initiatives
• Build financial models and provide ad-hoc analysis to support key business decisions
• Collaborate with shared services, tax, treasury, BI, and commercial teams on operational finance matters
• Ensure accurate and compliant revenue recognition across ANZ operations
• Lead the annual budgeting process, challenging assumptions and ensuring robust financial planning

Your Background

The ideal attributes our client is looking for include:

• CA or CPA qualified and bring 5+ years of experience in a commercial finance setting
• Well-versed in technical accounting, with a sharp analytical mindset and strong business acumen
• Comfortable owning core finance processes, including month-end close, audit preparation, and compliance tasks
• Confident communicator who builds rapport easily and collaborates well across different functions and levels
• You take initiative, embrace challenges, and are always looking for ways to learn and improve
• Detail-oriented with the ability to distil complex financial information into clear insights
• Skilled in developing and maintaining dashboards that drive better visibility and reporting
