The Company

This well-established Australian retail chain has been around for decades and is continuing to grow. They are currently going through a period of change, which is why this Assistant Accountant role has been created. Our client is seeking an ambitious and passionate candidate who is keen to further develop their experience and skills with the support of a talented team.

The Role

The responsibilities of this Assistant Accountant role will include, but not be limited to:

• Bank reconciliations
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Fixed asset register maintenance
• Journal positing including accruals and prepayments
• Ad-hoc tasks to support the broader finance team

Your Background

To be considered for this Assistant Accountant role, you should meet most of the following criteria:

• Prior experience in AP, AR and bank reconciliations
• Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables and vlookups)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Australian accounting degree and plans to commence/have already commenced CPA/CA
• Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Driver's license and car
• Prior experience in a retail or product-based business will be highly regarded
